Metaplanet receives first third-party research coverage from Storm Research

Japan's Bitcoin Treasury Metaplanet received first third-party coverage from an equity research company when it was featured in a report Monday by UK-based Storm Research. Founded in 2009, the Boutique Equity Research Shop specializes in small to medium-term Japanese stocks. “The world's third largest economy hosts hundreds of publicly listed companies with little or no analyst coverage,” the company explains on its LinkedIn page. It's no surprise that Metaplanet, one of the best performing stocks worldwide in 2024, has finally caught the attention of Storm. The so-called “Asian micro-strategy” has gradually increased significantly after implementing the successful Bitcoin financial strategy last year. Before 2024, Metaplanet was a struggling hotel developer, bleeding money for six consecutive years. “We are happy to share that Storm Research has launched coverage of Metaplanet, the first third-party research report,” Metaplanet CEO Simon Jerovich posted on “A key milestone that helps institutional investors understand our Bitcoin-first strategy and business model.”
