- The SEI network integrates human model context protocols to enable secure on-chain interactions via Claude, Windsurf, and Cursor.
- AI agents can now use standard interfaces on the SEI network to read blockchain data and execute transactions directly.
The SEI network has integrated the Model Context Protocol (MCP) into the network. MCP is not just a new feature, it is a very fast way to connect AI systems such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf directly to on-chain data and transactions on the SEI network. There are no more complex connectors or custom integrations. AI can also pull wallet data, read smart contracts, and perform Defi transactions using one open standard.
What makes this move even more interesting is the fact that the MCP protocol was developed by humanity and was once promoted as the “USB-C” of the AI world. This means that one cable, or in this case one protocol can connect to many things.
AI can now understand what is happening in the SEI blockchain without having to guess what is happening behind the scenes. Simply submit a request and you'll see the data. Or even more exciting, AI can take action right away. Do you want to send a token? yes. Would you like to join the farm? yes. Find the person with the most SEI in the liquidity pool? It's possible again.
The Model Context Protocol is now live on SEI.

SEI's Giga upgrade pushes blockchain speeds to new heights
Of course, the network itself must be fast for all this to run smoothly. And the SEI is, of course, ready. Last April, they introduced a major upgrade called The Giga Upgrade. Imagine it. Processing speeds reach 5 gigabytes per second when internal developer networks spread globally.
For non-engineers, this is like a blockchain engine that can handle hundreds of thousands of complex transactions without hassle.
The technology behind this performance is called a consensus protocol that combines asynchronous data propagation with a BFT consensus mechanism.
As evidence, in early July, the CNF recorded that the SEI was able to process 4.6 million transactions in one day. At about the same time, the total value (TVL) locked across all SEI Defi protocols also broke the $600 million mark for the first time.
As SEI networks grow, the focus is on user safety
But amid the surge in activity, questions arise: What about security? Interestingly, SEI did not grow the network without supervision. As we highlighted last week, Mywebacy (on-chain risk assessment platform) was adapted to SEI.
Is that what the purpose? Provide a real-time risk assessment system that is accessible to all users. So, if a suspicious address or strange transaction is under the radar, the user can get an early warning before it's too late.
This rapidly growing environment also supports the emergence of such security applications. DEX volumes are increasing, AI integration is becoming more complicated and users are increasing. Without extra oversights, things can get messy. So having a tool like Mywebacy isn't just important. It is necessary.
Meanwhile, with the MCP live, new possibilities are emerging. This is an AI bot that excludes fraud, makes automated decisions about staking and trading, and checks the validity of your smart contract in seconds. What used to demand a team of analysts, now one smart prompt may be enough.
However, it's not just that there is no risk. Several researchers have raised potential loopholes with open standards such as MCP, from manipulating data, rapid injections, to “tool addiction” scenarios. But that's not a reason to retreat. This is exactly where innovation is tested. Can you grow without sacrificing integrity?
SEI seems to want to answer that challenge. The launch of the MCP is just part of the big picture. They not only aim for the “fastest blockchain” title, but also aim for the most AI-friendly ecosystem.
Meanwhile, at the time of reporting, their native token, SEI, was $0.2601a little below 0.77% Still meeting for the past 24 hours 33.66% The past 30 days.
