Sharplink Gaming (SBET), a cryptocurrency firm listed on NASDAQ, said it recently appeared as one of Ether's (ETH)'s biggest corporate holders.
According to a press release, after spending 20 years at BlackRock in various roles, Charom led Asset Management Giant's foray into digital assets and blockchain initiatives, leading blockchain initiatives such as the launch of Spot Eth ETF. He is also a board member of Tokenization Firm Securitize and has issued the largest tokenized US Treasury Fund on BlackRock.
“Global executives have had the kind of impact that Joseph unlocked the institutional adoption of digital assets and pioneered strategic entries into the BlackRock space,” Sharplink Chairman Joseph Rubin said in a statement.
Sharplink CEO Robert Pythian will move to President in the next quarter and remain on the board.
Sharplink, who pivoted on a cryptocurrency strategy focused on Ethereum under Ethereum leadership in May, is the co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Ethereum-focused developer Consensys. Since then, the company has appeared as one of the most offensive ETH buyers, having won over $1.3 billion tokens.
SBET shares were 3% lower early on Friday, falling 30% in the past five sessions.
