A lone Bitcoin miner beat odds of 1 in 180 million and secured a 3.133 BTC reward worth $284,000.
Block 927474 contained 1,117 transactions mined via Solo CKPool that generated 0.008 BTC fees.
Since 2014, Solo CKPool has recorded 309 solo mining blocks, demonstrating the potential for rare but individual success.
A solo Bitcoin miner has surprisingly hit the jackpot after mining block 927474, securing a reward of 3.133 BTC worth approximately $284,000. This win is like winning the lottery, as the odds of success are almost 1 in 180 million due to intense competition from large mining farms.
This rare success came as Bitcoin rose 2.48% in the past 24 hours, trading above $92,500 and increasing its market capitalization to $1.85 trillion.
Solo Bitcoin miner succeeds with block 927474
According to on-chain data and pool records, the Bitcoin block numbered 927474 was mined by a solo miner using Solo CKPool. Solo CKPool is a service that allows miners to attempt to acquire blocks on their own while using shared backend software.
The block was completed around 21:22 UTC and included 1,117 transactions, most of which had very low fees due to today's network conditions, with a total fee of 0.008 BTC.
By successfully solving a block, miners earn a base reward of 3.125 BTC and a small fee, making the total reward approximately 3.133 BTC.

However, the miners kept almost all of their winnings, except for Solo CKPool's measly 2% commission. This result shows that even modest solo setups can win in systems dominated by large mining farms.
Solo mining win rate: 1 in 180 million
Recent mining statistics show that the chances of a small solo operation finding a block on any given day are very low.
In some reported cases, hobby miners with hashrates measured in terahashes per second faced odds like 1 in 180 million due to the Bitcoin network's huge hashrate, which recently exceeded 800 exahashes per second.
Congratulations to a very lucky miner 3K99~Ct8M with just 6 TH who solved the 308th solo block at https://t.co/UWgBvLkDqc. The odds of a miner of this size solving a block each day are only 1 in 180 million. https://t.co/J×3fTUlaIe pic.twitter.com/F5CKVrEfYt

Although solo wins like this happen very rarely, Solo CKPool has recorded approximately 309 solo mining blocks since 2014, showing that success, albeit rare, does happen.
Although many miners now operate in large pools where revenue is distributed based on contributions, solo mining keeps alive the core idea that Bitcoin is permissionless and remains open to individual participation.
