Who is D4vd?
D4vd is an American singer who caused controversy in September this year when a 15-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas, was found dead inside a Tesla registered in her name. The police report said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and Rivas likely had been dead for a long time before being found.
A missing persons flyer said Rivas was last seen in April 2024. CBS Newswhen she would have only been 13 years old. As my friends at D4vd later told me, TMZ They believed D4vd and Rivas were a couple, but were shocked to learn her real age.
Naturally, the news sparked a social media storm surrounding the case, with online sleuths digging deeper to uncover the truth. As a result, Google searches for D4vd peaked during the week of September 14-20, then declined by the end of October, according to Google Trends. Still, this brief internet buzz was apparently enough to make D4vd the most Googled person of the year.
Before the incident, D4vd wasn't very popular in Google searches, despite being a somewhat popular touring artist. Things changed after Rivas' death, and his music catalog and live performances began to gain attention again.
His most popular song “Romantic Homicide” has currently been streamed 1.77 billion times on Spotify. The song details a breakup, with the artist figuratively singing, “In the back of my mind you died and I didn't even cry.”
Previous D4vd live performances are also beginning to resurface, where the artist allegedly wore bloody clothes and brought a coffin to shows and asked fans to write letters to the “deceased.”
D4vd reportedly brought coffins, wreaths, and notepads with pencils for people to write letters to the deceased during shows on tour.

D4vd initially cooperated with the police investigation into Rivas' death, but the singer eventually stopped cooperating. According to reports, in November, the Los Angeles Police Department identified D4vd as a suspect in connection with Rivas' death. NBC Los Angeles.
All of this heartbreak, death, and controversy was enough to make D4vd the most searched person on Google in 2025, making a six-figure profit for one Polymarket user in the process.
