- Following community suggestions indicating that VOT3 tokens can directly trigger on-chain actions, VeChain blacklisted four applications.
- The proposal cites documented problems, including failures to distribute rewards, misappropriation of funds and vote manipulation.
Vechain announced that it has blacklisted several applications as part of its VeBetter governance framework. This decision will be made after the community's proposal is approved and VeBetter DAO votes in favor of the proposal. This means that the measures outlined are now applied on-chain.
VeChain said the move demonstrates the effectiveness of its decentralized governance model. Here, community participation is directly translated into protocol-level actions. According to the network, the results highlight the growing role of token holders' votes in shaping ecosystem standards and accountability.
VeChain thanked the community members who participated in the vote. We noted that this process demonstrates the practical strength of VeBetter's DAO governance infrastructure.
VeChain proposal aims to protect VeBetter DAO ecosystem
VeChain has outlined a governance proposal that calls for multiple on-chain actions. The purpose behind it is to protect the integrity of the VeBetterDAO ecosystem.
As part of this plan, four apps on the list of VeBetterDAO apps will be added to the blacklist immediately. This includes names like vePet, VeDreamHome, VeMeal, and EatGreen. Additionally, this plan aims to permanently destroy creator NFTs connected to EatGreen and VeMeal.
This request was made after VeChain was reported as a documented case of fraud. The proposal notes that vePet failed to distribute rewards to users and redirected funds to exchanges. Additionally, VeDreamHome faces accusations of engaging in large-scale automated voting operations.
VeMeal has been blacklisted due to financial mismanagement and project cancellations. On the other hand, promoted farmers are abusing EatGreen, making it unsafe for future use.
To prevent future misuse of community resources, VeChain plans to remove the app and destroy associated creator NFTs. Additionally, it prevents governance abuse and ensures that valuable consumers and developers in the ecosystem benefit from incentives.
VeBetter features dual token ecosystem with B3TR and VOT3
Vechain’s VeBetter platform has a dual token ecosystem consisting of B3TR and VOT3 tokens. These work together to provide incentives and governance within the ecosystem.
As mentioned by CNF, B3TR is VeBetter’s primary incentive token. Used for general reward distribution, including managing VeBetter Treasury. B3TR also serves as a value and monetization layer for active participants and business-driven applications. This token also serves as an incentive mechanism for sustainability-focused applications built within the ecosystem. Additionally, B3TR supports VOT3 governance tokens on a 1:1 basis.
VOT3 serves as the governance token for the VeBetter ecosystem. Required to participate in on-chain governance processes and proposals. VOT3 can be directly converted one-to-one with B3TR. Therefore, users can switch between incentive and governance tokens as needed.
