A Coinbase user known for making large Shiba Inu (SHIB) transfers has resurfaced after being inactive for a year.
The address, identified as 0x1b1…bb27D, recently transferred tens of billions of tokens in a single transaction. According to Arkham Intelligence, the wallet withdrew 53.59 billion SHIB tokens from Coinbase on December 15, 2025.
This is the last time wallet activity was recorded since December 16, 2024, exactly one year apart. At the time of the transfer, the 53.59 billion SHIB tokens had a value of approximately $418,550.
Withdrawal from an exchange may indicate a transition to long-term self-custody or preparation for over-the-counter trading.
How to manage tokens
In particular, wallet activity provides clues about how withdrawn funds are managed. For context, this wallet first pulled SHIB from Coinbase in 2022, moving around 52 billion tokens. On December 16, 2024, the entire 52 billion SHIB was returned to Coinbase through two separate transactions.
After a full year of inactivity, the wallet became active again on December 15, 2025, transferring 53.59 billion SHIB in a single transaction. Currently, with 53 billion SHIB tokens remaining in wallets, SHIB holds the largest dollar position in the portfolio.
The remaining holdings in the wallet, including ETH and BASED, are worth less than $100, highlighting SHIB's dominance in this account.

Shiba Inu Whale withdraws 53 billion SHIB from Coinbase
Growing whale activity
The deal comes amid a surge in whale activity, including Shiba Inu dogs. Earlier this month, a mysterious whale moved approximately 169 billion SHIB tokens from Coinbase to a newly created blockchain wallet.
As of December 10th, approximately 8 trillion SHIB tokens have been withdrawn from exchanges, including one whale who transferred 2.2 trillion tokens from Coinbase in 6 transactions.
While whales are actively withdrawing SHIB from exchanges, there are also reports that some whales are simultaneously moving significant amounts to centralized trading platforms.
Notably, Santimento recently suggested that on December 9th, the trade of approximately 406 whales increased Shiba Inu's foreign exchange reserves by SHIB 1.6 trillion.
Shiba Inu is currently trading at $0.000007741, down 72% over the past year, down 14.3% over the past month, and down 0.98% over the past 24 hours.
