Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT) moved approximately 2,000 Bitcoins BTC$87,408.00the day after it was reported that its holdings had increased to 11,542 BTC, funds worth approximately $174 million were leaked through a series of wallets.
The transfer routed the bitcoins through multiple addresses, with about $12 million ultimately ending up at Coinbase Prime Custody, according to blockchain data tracked by CoinDesk on Arkham.
The remainder is held in other wallets that appear to be linked to the same entity, suggesting a realignment of reserves rather than a unilateral move to an exchange.
This activity itself does not constitute a sale. Coinbase Prime Custody is a storage product designed for institutions, where custody transfers can reflect financial operations such as cold storage reorganization and wallet consolidation. Stored assets can remain there for long periods of time without being traded.
The timing is notable, coming a day after blockchain tracker Lookonchain announced that the company had purchased 451 BTC, suggesting Trump Media, the owner of social media platform Truth Social, is actively managing its Bitcoin position rather than leaving it static.
Corporate holders often move assets between wallets for operational reasons, especially after new purchases, internal policy changes, or storage migrations.
Bitcoin price had little immediate reaction to this move. The token has traded between $86,000 and nearly $87,000 in the past 24 hours, a range it has held even as broader crypto sentiment softened towards the end of the year.
Traders are closely monitoring flows and positions, with recent market movements showing Bitcoin struggling to maintain the key psychological level above $90,000.
On-chain transfers also occurred as Trump Media's stock price rose. The stock is up more than 30% in the past five trading days, trading at about $14, according to Google Finance.
The move comes at a time of renewed attention to the company's strategy beyond social media, including its expansion into financial products and digital assets.
