2025 was a very eventful year for XRP as the nearly four-year legal battle between the US SEC and Ripple Labs officially came to an end.
The conclusion of the litigation removes the regulatory hurdles that obscured XRP and provides regulatory clarity for XRP.
This has increased interest and price in XRP.
As a result, XRP emerged as the most traded cryptocurrency in 2025, which was generally considered weak for altcoins.
According to the data, XRP became the most traded cryptocurrency on Uphold in 2025.
The US cryptocurrency exchange confirmed this in a post from its X account, stating that “XRP became Uphold's most traded asset in 2025, driven by one of the most active and collaborative communities in the digital asset ecosystem.”
Uphold also thanked the XRP community for its support, being the most active community in XRP's success.
The success of XRP on Uphold is not surprising as Uphold has long been one of XRP's biggest supporters.
When the SEC filed the lawsuit, many US exchanges delisted XRP, but Uphold did not delist XRP and stood by it. The exchange said it will continue to treat XRP as a digital asset until a judge officially declares it a security.
Uphold also supported XRP and pointed out that the SEC had not issued any explicit orders for exchanges to stop trading in XRP, and Uphold was ultimately proven correct.
