When a large whale moves the ocean, ripples occur across the water. Similarly, for large bitcoins
Earlier on Friday, two wallets labeled “12tls…xj2me” and “1kbrs… awjym… awjym” moved over $2 billion to a new address, according to data being tracked on the blockchain Sleuth Lookonchain. The address received these coins on April 3, 2011, when Bitcoin was priced at around 78 cents.
Today, BTC is over $109,000, meaning an astounding 140,000x return on two whale addresses. Since BTC exceeded $100,000 in May, many long-term holders have sold coins.
That said, the latest transfer has been made to a silent, non-exchange address since receiving these coins. Therefore, it is too early to conclude that the transfer operation is intended to benefit.
