Artificial intelligence, blockchain, and innovation are buzzwords characterized by innovative technologies that challenge traditional systems. However, bottlenecks limit transformation.
Today's artificial intelligence interactions are mediated by companies, which limit users' access to how artificial intelligence models work or limit the parameters they can change beyond those provided. Zero Gravity (0G) is a modular, AI-native L1 blockchain built to unify compute, storage, and data availability into a single verifiable operating system.
What is 0G? overview
At the heart of 0G is a decentralized AI operating system (deAIOS) designed to make AI fully transparent, verifiable, and community-owned.
More specifically, 0G is a layer 1 blockchain that provides an infinitely scalable decentralized artificial intelligence architecture. Blockchain takes a modular approach, with each layer responsible for a specific technology stack component essential to a fully decentralized AI system.
Current blockchain solutions lack the technical capacity to meet market-level artificial intelligence (AI) system requirements. Traditional solutions also have limitations, as AI models and training data are kept within the walls of a company.
0G's approach provides a transparent decision-making and AI modeling process, ensuring fairness and accountability. And because it's open source, it gives developers a level of control not found with traditional AI models.
0G architecture description
0G features a modular architecture consisting of multiple components or layers, each optimized for a specific purpose. In this design, storage, computing, and data availability are separated into a specialized network coordinated by a 0G chain.
More specifically, 0G's modular architecture includes:
- 0G Chain: Layer 1 blockchain that supports smart contracts with AI compatibility for decentralized applications. It is inexpensive compared to its competitors, has a multi-consensus verification mechanism, and ensures a decentralized and leaderless community of verifiers.
- 0G Computing Network: This layer provides a decentralized marketplace for computing. We currently support inference and fine-tuning, but pre-training is planned for a future release.
- 0G storage: Distributed storage space for immutable archive data and low-latency key-value state, protected by Proof-of-Random-Access (PoRA).
- 0G Data Availability: A horizontally scalable layer that ensures fast and verifiable access to AI data.
The main benefit of the modular architecture for developers is that they can choose to use the entire 0G stack or specific layers depending on their requirements. This allows for more strategic flexibility and gradual deployment as the project evolves.
What's in it for developers?
For developers, decentralized AI is an opportunity to create services and products that are more appealing to end users. Decentralization promises infinite scale, low costs, transparency, and control over AI models.
Here's a detailed breakdown of the benefits:
Full ownership of your AI models and data
In centralized AI systems like OpenAI and AWS, developers relinquish control over model behavior, data privacy, and deployment options. 0G allows developers to host and manage their own AI models. Decentralization ensures data sovereignty and enables enforcement of governance and privacy standards.
Monetization through open marketplace
0G introduces a new monetization model using the native 0G token. Developers can act as network verifiers and earn 0G incentives for securing the network. At TGE, 28% of the 1 billion tokens were allocated to ecosystem growth, including the long-term development and expansion of the 0G ecosystem.
Developers can publish and monetize their models and services on the 0G decentralized marketplace.
Low-cost, scalable computing access
0G's decentralized AI network provides access to GPU computing at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. Costs range from $5 to $11 per TB per month, 80% cheaper than AWS S3.
The network is also infinitely scalable, allowing you to run software and process data calculations remotely. 0G achieved 11,000 transactions per second (TPS) across 50 distributed validators, with an average block time of just 500ms.
Validators are geographically located and run on the cloud, demonstrating 0G resiliency under real-world conditions. The architecture is modeled to scale linearly, so throughput is infinite and scales as demand increases.
Interoperability and open standards
Decentralized applications thrive on open protocols. Open protocols are universal and can be used by anyone, not just one entity or company. All network information is publicly available for anyone to see and use.
0G's open standard provides greater network flexibility and more integration options. Developers can easily integrate the network's distributed services (storage, identity, compute, etc.).
Open standards are also immune to vendor lock-in, which occurs when developers rely on a single service provider and find it costly or difficult to switch to another vendor. Vendor lock-in is a common feature of centralized artificial intelligence service providers.
Build AI applications that protect privacy
Data privacy is a growing concern. Today's AI-driven products rely on data collected, monetized, and managed by businesses. Decentralized models have privacy protection built into their architecture.
These features include zero-knowledge proofs, cryptography, and confidential computing to help you build applications that respect user privacy. Unlike centralized models where models and processes are hidden behind corporate servers, all > integration and automation opportunities
0G's trustless model, transparency, and capacity perfectly suit the needs of developers and managed service providers (MSPs). Its architecture easily integrates with existing DevOps and automation pipelines. Distributed computing also creates monetization opportunities for developing custom plugins and autoscaling.
tokenomics
0G Token is the native utility token of 0G's growing ecosystem. It is used to settle transaction fees, pay for AI computation and storage, and secure the network through a staking-based Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus mechanism.
At the Token Generation Event (TGE), 0G distributed a total of 1 billion tokens to fund community rewards and ecosystem growth while encouraging early investors, developers, and node operators.
56% of the 1 billion tokens were allocated to community rewards (13%), ecosystem growth (28%), and AI coordination nodes (15%). The “AI Alignment Node” assignment is for owners and operators of validator nodes that work in parallel with network consensus validators and help verify model integrity and network behavior.
Community rewards are given to users who actively contribute to the 0G ecosystem, while ecosystem growth allocations are focused on the long-term expansion of the 0G network.
The remaining 44% of the tokens were reserved for the team's advisors, contributors, and backers. Supporters account for half of the allocation, or 22%. Tokens allocated to teams and backers have a 12-month lockup period during which they cannot access or sell the tokens.
After the lockup, the tokens will be gradually released, with the final allocation occurring 4 years after the TGE. A structured allocation prevents early investors from dumping their tokens on the market and developing loyalty to the project.
Mainnet status
From 2024 to 2025, 0G ran multiple testnets to allow developers and users to experiment, test, and validate new features without putting real assets at risk. The testnet attracted significant attention from early adopters and recorded millions of users and transactions.
0G's last testnet, Galileo, achieved 50 Gbps of data throughput (up to 50,000 times faster than traditional blockchain networks).
0G mainnet “Aristotle” was launched on September 22, 2025. The launch was accompanied by multiple 0G token listings across top tier exchanges including Binance and Bybit.
0G storage costs are currently the lowest compared to traditional and Web3 solutions, with prices ranging from approximately $5/TB/month for HDDs to approximately $11/TB/month for SSDs. Preliminary benchmarks suggest that training custom models can reduce costs by up to 95%.
Partners and ecosystem
The 0G Foundation has committed $88.88 million in ecosystem growth funds to developers, startups, and researchers working at the intersection of AI and Web3. Interested parties can start by applying to the $8.88 million Guild on 0G accelerator program. The program helps early-stage builders move their AI-powered dApps from testnet to mainnet.
To date, the program has helped incubate, fund and advise dozens of projects.
0G provides a basic AI layer for other applications to build products on. Following the mainnet launch, dozens of projects have been built on top of the 0G layer to provide real-world solutions. Examples include Jaine, a decentralized exchange, and Gizmo, which provides liquid staking opportunities.
Nodes and validators play an important role in securing the network. These personnel ensure that all processes running on the network are valid and prevent malicious parties and hackers from exploiting the network. 0G has multiple validators and storage, and data availability nodes distributed around the world.
Roadmap and what to watch next
There are future development milestones in the 0G ecosystem that could result in new and more efficient AI applications from indie developers. Expectations are also high for new partnerships that are predicted to grow the 0G ecosystem.
More funding allocations from community incentives and the Ecosystem Growth Fund are also expected. These funds are expected to reward the engagement and loyalty of community members and help develop more use cases through grants for the 0G AI blockchain.
According to CoinMarketCap data, the $0G token launch saw active trading, reaching a peak price of $7.31. The $0G token is expected to trade at a higher price as the project gains mass adoption and the market stabilizes post-launch.
conclusion
Zero Gravity is building the ultimate hub for on-chain AI. Building an ever-evolving AI environment requires intentional thinking and flexibility allowed within the 0G architecture. As artificial intelligence replaces data-driven intelligence, this platform has the runway to evolve to provide solutions that require less human intervention. With 0G, the future is revolutionary.
