Crypto.com today published Crypto Market Data by Crypto.com. It is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementation that allows large-scale language models (LLMs) to leverage live cryptocurrency and financial market data directly from exchanges. The service provides real-time price quotes, order books, currency conversions, candlestick charts, and other market signals directly into integrated LLMs such as Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT, allowing users to incorporate the latest cryptocurrency intelligence into conversational AI workflows.
The company described the announcement as the first phase of the product, noting that developers and AI users can already use the assistant to configure Crypto Market Data powered by Crypto.com, with further expansion and broader LLM compatibility planned. This early availability will enable traders, analysts, and AI builders to combine natural language inference with a continuous feed of trading data without having to piece together custom integrations.
“The integration of AI and cryptocurrencies is still in its infancy and will truly transform the way we approach investing and commerce,” said Eric Anziani, president and chief operating officer of Crypto.com. “We are excited to take this latest important step in the development of AI-powered cryptocurrency tools that bridge into a new era of financial technology and empowerment. Crypto.com’s crypto market data is designed for today’s and tomorrow’s traders.”
Exchange-grade crypto feed meets AI
Crypto.com has positioned its new MCP product as the next evolution of its AI efforts, following the debut of the Crypto.com AI Agent SDK in 2024. Introduced in beta last year, the SDK is built to allow developers to link natural language input to blockchain functionality across Crypto.com services and compatible chains, and the company says the new market data service will complement the efforts of these tools.
Industry observers have been experimenting with MCP and similar tools to enable AI assistants to securely query external datasets in real-time, and Crypto.com's move puts exchange-grade market feeds squarely into that trend. By exposing exchange data through MCP endpoints, Crypto.com aims to eliminate the custom engineering overhead of each model and data connection, allowing LLMs to focus on analysis and decision support.
Founded in 2016 and used by millions of people around the world, Crypto.com said the product reflects its broader vision of “Cryptocurrency in Every Wallet™” and its emphasis on security, compliance and privacy as it expands into AI-driven services. Crypto Market Data by Crypto.com is available now and can be configured to work with the user's preferred LLM or assistant.
As AI agents become more capable, services that provide timely and reliable data will become central as traders and everyday users rely on conversational assistants to monitor markets and gain trading insights. The launch of Crypto.com will make the exchange a direct data partner for these agents, but the company also said it will continue to roll out updates and broader integrations in the near future.
