- Crypto.com has received conditional approval from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority for a Virtual Asset Service Provider License.
- This milestone follows the previous VASP registration in 2022.
According to an announcement on Monday, Crypto.com has received conditional approval to operate as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) in the Cayman Islands. This license will allow the exchange to expand its institutional services in the market.
The Cayman Islands introduced registration requirements for crypto companies in 2020, with Crypto.com completing the process in 2022.
In April 2025, a stricter licensing regime for custodians and trading platforms was fully implemented, with Crypto.com becoming the first major platform to move forward under the new framework.
The company expects to obtain full authorization under the Cayman Islands' VASP licensing framework in the coming months.
“Crypto.com has built a foundation for growth and success around regulation and compliance,” said Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com. “We are extremely proud to be the industry leader in licensing and registration and to be the first digital asset company in the Cayman Islands to receive this approval.”
