The excitement with Cardano (ADA) suggests that the apparent integration with Apple Pay took over social media this week, suggesting that ADA payments are currently present across Apple devices. However, according to Tokeo co-founder Shaz, the truth is a bit subtle.
In a post shared on July 22nd, Shaz tackled virus headlines around Cardanokit, a development toolkit that enables Cardano functionality on Apple devices. The toolkit is certainly tackled by Tokeo, but he warned of it:
“Social media () makes things disproportionate.”
I'm watching Cardanokit and Cardano/Apple Tooling free marketing, so it's built via @tokeo_io RN.

He said the topic of marketing is concentrated on the assumption that ADA payments are fully supported via Apple Pay.
What is the situation with Cardano and Apple Pay?
What's actually going on is broader and more influential. Shaz confirmed that Tokeo is only a few weeks away from the launch of the crypto-enabled MasterCard, which was developed in collaboration with leading payment gateway Mercuryo. The card allows users to use ADA using Apple Pay, filling the gap between Web3 assets and traditional POS systems.
“They forgot to mention that they could immediately buy things using the ADA using MasterCard via Apple Pay,” writes Shaz. “That's another product we're working on.”

He also suggests a pipeline of strengthening integrations, partnerships and wallet infrastructure that Tokeo is currently building or exploring. These include collaboration with Stablecoin providers, POS systems, ID solutions, wallet abstraction tools, and more. According to Shaz, the ultimate goal is to build a product that targets users outside the Core Crypto space and allows Web3 payments to be accessed in the real world.
Attention around Cardanokit is a sign of a growing appetite for seamless crypto payments, especially across platforms like iOS. Although ADA is not yet natively supported by Apple Pay, the infrastructure developed by Tokeo can allow that experience through indirect routes such as card-related payments.
