The countdown for the Fusaka upgrade on the Ethereum mainnet is in full swing, as Ethereum developers have announced the date of the final rehearsal on the Fuday testnet.
At the All Core Devs Consensus (ACDC) held on October 16th, Ethereum developers indicated that Fusaka plans to join the Hoodi testnet on October 28th.
Hoodi, which launched earlier this year, is intended to more closely mirror Ethereum's mainnet, and Fusaka's launch is expected to be a near replica of the performance of the post-go-live upgrade.

This week, Ethereum developers successfully began testing the upcoming Fusaka upgrade on the Sepolia network, marking another step towards mainnet deployment of the upgrade. This comes after a successful rollout on the Holesky testnet two weeks ago.
A successful launch of Fusaka on the Hoodi testnet on October 28th will allow developers to set a firm date for activating the upgrade on Ethereum mainnet, but at the recently concluded ACDC meeting, developers proposed a tentative date of December 3rd.
face upgrade
The Fusaka upgrade comes just months after Ethereum's major Pectra upgrade, which aims to reduce costs for institutions using the Ethereum network.
In a recent tweet, Kevin O'Leary pointed out that Ethereum was so crowded during the weekend market crash that fees soared to more than $1,000 just to process small transactions. “It's like paying a $1,000 toll to drive on a one-lane highway,” he added.
Fusaka introduced PeerDAS, a data validation technique that allows validators to process only a portion of the data (a βblobβ), reducing bandwidth requirements and costs for institutional users and Layer 2 networks.
