Ethereum Core developers discussed many important technical topics at the 214th Executive Level Developer Conference (ACDE). According to a summary of Christine Kim's meeting, the developers focused on upcoming Fusaka upgrades, new EIPs and test plans.
The notable decision of the meeting was that Fusaka Devnet 2 would begin on June 23rd. At least three independent consensus layer (CL) and execution layer (EL) client groups must be ready for DevNet 2.
Among the discussion and planned Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) were:
- EIP-7594 – Peerdas: Distributed Data Sampling
- EIP-7823 – Upper limit of Modeexp operation
- EIP-7825 – Trading fee (gasoline fee) cap
- EIP-7883 – Increased Modeexp gas costs
- EIP-7892 – BLOB parameters are changed only on hard forks
- EIP-7917 – Deterministic Block Producer Visibility
- EIP-7918 – BLOB-based fees to transaction costs
- EIP-7935 – Set default gas limit to xx0m
- EIP-7951 – Pre-add secp256R1 curve
- EIP-7907 – Smart contract code size limit (reduced from 256 kb to 48 kb)
- EIP-7934 – RLP Block Size Limit
- EIP-7939 – New opcode to calculate zero
Some technical details are still in the testing stage. For example, pricing testing is currently underway on EIP-7951. The meeting also discussed new proposals that will be included in future “Glam Stardom” upgrades. These included EIP-7745 (Trust Login Dex) and EIP-7919 (a core proposal called Pureeth).
