In a notice to Ethereum node operators, an ETH advisor and angel investor active at Sassal.eth in X informed them that the default gas limit was set to 60 million in the Fusaka release client and urged node operators who had previously set gas limits to reflect this change.
“The default gas limit is set to 60mil in the Fusaka release client, but if you previously set the gas limit manually, you must change it to 60mil (or remove the manual change),” Sassal.eth writes.
The announcement comes as the countdown to the Fusaka mainnet upgrade begins after a successful test on the Hoodi testnet on October 28th.
Attention Ethereum Node Operators!
In the Fusaka release client, the default gas limit is set to 60mil, but if you previously set the gas limit manually, you must change it to 60mil (or remove the manual change).
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sassal.eth highlighted the countdown in another tweet, saying, “Less than a month until Fusaka goes live on Ethereum mainnet. More blobs coming. Ethereum is expanding.”
Fusaka countdown starts
Fusaka, the second hard fork of Ethereum in 2025, is scheduled to launch on mainnet in December. This upgrade will go live on Ethereum mainnet once the blockchain reaches slot 13,164,544, which is expected to occur on December 3, 2025 at 9:49 PM UTC.
The main feature of Fusaka upgrade is PeerDAS. PeerDAS allows validators to only check segments of data rather than complete “blobs,” reducing bandwidth demands and expenses for both validators and Layer 2 networks. The Fusaka release includes 11 other improvements.
With the Fusaka upgrade date confirmed, Ethereum developers are now moving on to the next hard fork called Gramsterdam. Nothing is set in stone yet, but the developers plan to include proposals that focus on separating proposers and builders.
A recent milestone in the Ethereum ecosystem saw TPS surpass 24,000, marking a new all-time high.
