- Three participants in the IOTA Business Innovation Program (BIP) have been announced to use the new infrastructure to provide lasting solutions in areas such as sustainability, education, food and pharmaceuticals.
- IOTA has made it clear that it will remain open until December 31, 2025 as it continues to welcome more builders.
Earlier this year, IOTA announced the introduction of its Business Innovation Program (BIP) as part of its plan to support entities working on real-world solutions. According to the report, the newly upgraded mainnet was designed to play a key role in this as IOTA pledges 100,000 euros ($112,321.50) in hands-on support, infrastructure access and funding.
With the successful upgrade of the rebasing protocol previously investigated by CNF, IOTA announced its first batch of participants today, May 14th.
Notes
According to an official blog post detailing the report, Orobo is one of the first three participants selected for the Business Innovation Program. Orobo is reportedly building infrastructure that meets Europe's upcoming sustainability requirements. It is also known for its digital product passport platform, which helps manufacturers track the entire lifecycle of their products.
Now, the initiative is said to tackle a variety of sustainability challenges, including data fragmentation, greenwashing and regulatory pressures. Attractively, its founder and director, Saint Carriere, revealed that she chose IOTA to share a vision related to digital systems that prioritize planets and people, focusing on real-world applications.
Specifically, Orobo is expected to use IOTA mainnet and a variety of IOTA products, including identity, gas stations, explorers, custom mobile contracts.
In-part technology
Impeirce Technologies exists as one of three participants selected for BIP. According to our research, this entity is a European social enterprise designed to create secure, privacy-first digital identity solutions. The innovation is aimed at solving challenges within the education sector, e-commerce industry, and logistics sectors.
According to CEO and founder Jelle Millenaar, ITA has chosen the unique ability to host digital IDs in ledgers.
This ensures the ability to provide consistent availability, robust security and native privacy. This is important for building trust in next-generation distributed identity solutions.
According to the details available on the IOTA website, Impeirce Technologies essentially uses IOTA MainNet, IOTA ID and IOTA gas stations for their initiative.
ObjectId
The ObjectID is the third and final participant in the BIP. Unlike the others, it provides a lasting solution to the challenges that exist in three key areas.
First, it will improve traceability from the origins of the food and pharmaceutical industry to birth. Second, it addresses the repeated issues of luxury goods by providing customers with confidence and transparency in the resale market. Finally, we ensure that the global supply chain of the manufacturing sector is accountable.
SDV Consulting CEO Stefano Della Valle revealed why he chose IOTA, highlighting the shared vision related to actual recruitment.
IOTA offers a scalable, affordable, secure infrastructure for not only IoT but also enterprise-grade applications such as ObjectID that link to real-world products without relying on Digital Identives and Domains.
According to IOTA, BIP remained open for more builders until December 31, 2025. Meanwhile, the open source distributed ledger has partnered with Coingecko to launch a Learn and Reath campaign, as detailed in recent news reports. Not only that, but as I explained in my previous blog post, it also announced the establishment of a Twin Foundation to manage technological development.
