Metaplanet, Japanese hotelier scooping up bitcoin
The Tokyo List company purchased 1,234 BTC for $133 million, with an average price of $107,877. With the latest purchase, Metaplanet's Bitcoin Stash has an average price of $98,303 to 12,345 BTC.
Metaplanet is steadily acquiring Bitcoin, a strategy copied by many companies around the world. The Bitcoin Reserve Strategy was pioneered by Michael Saylor's strategy. It continues to be Bitcoin's largest corporate holder with over 570,000 BTC.
Metaplanet's latest purchases have made past Tesla Bitcoin Holdings at 11,509 BTC, and are only behind the larger crypto companies such as Mara, Riot, Galaxy and Strategy.
