Ripple was featured on the Nasdaq Tower primarily to celebrate its inauguration as a “Builder” of the Pledge 1% network during Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a global day of philanthropy).
The company has now donated more than $250 million to nonprofit organizations and universities.

Ripple's charity work
Ripple has established a robust philanthropic arm known as Ripple Impact (formerly “Ripple for Good”). They formalized this commitment by joining Pledge 1%, a global movement in which companies commit 1% of their capital, time, products, or profits to social causes.
The $250 million figure represents Ripple's cumulative donations to date. Their philanthropy strategy focuses on using blockchain technology to solve structural problems in philanthropy.
The cornerstone of Ripple's philanthropic efforts is the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), launched in 2018. This is the main vehicle for the large donation amounts that are attracting attention.
Ripple has partnered with more than 80 universities around the world and has committed more than $80 million specifically to academic fields.
The San Francisco-based company has also made significant donations to emergency relief efforts, including the Türkiye-Syria earthquake.
The company has also committed $100 million in philanthropy in 2022 to support the expansion of voluntary carbon markets.
