Steak 'n Shake has canceled its X poll asking whether it should accept ETH payments after receiving a barrage of criticism from Bitcoin supremacists, posting: “Poll canceled. Our loyalty lies with Bitcoiners. You spoke. Who allowed this? I'm back at my desk. — Steaktoshi.”
The move follows the chain's previous announcement that it would consider accepting ETH and pledged to “follow the results of this vote.” Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin also chimed in, calling the suspension a “good decision” and praising companies for prioritizing conviction over broad appeal, saying, “Not every company should be trying to appeal to as many customers as possible in the name of being 'not maximalist.' We need stubborn companies who believe in their cause and their tribe and see their work as a labor of love for it.”
