Tomasz Stanczak, co-director of Ethereum Foundation (EF), joining social media platform X, highlights Vitalik Buterin's role in nonprofit organizations. Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, is generally contributing to the growth and development of the network.
Buterin's leadership position in EF
In his post, Stanzak described butaline's role at the Ethereum Foundation following a recent leadership overhaul.
According to Stanczak, EF hopes Vitalik will stop focusing on daily adjustments and crisis responses. They believe this will free him more time to research and explore.
Our discussion of the Layer 1 Scaling Roadmap is extensive, and feedback so far suggests that the community appreciates our ambitions. Turning that ambition into reality now relies on the focus of the core development team and researchers.

The Co-Enforcement Director noted that every time Buterin shares insights or communicates direction, it accelerates major long-term breakthroughs. He cited an instance of Buterin's recent posts on RISC‑ V and ZKVM. Another example is Butarin's writings on privacy. This helped reorganize the community around the core values of the Ethereum Foundation.
Stanczak acknowledges Buterin's primary position, but he believes it's time for other researchers to demonstrate their leadership skills. He urged the community to begin reviewing submissions and suggestions from other researchers in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Stanczak noted that extensive work was done on the Layer-1 scaling roadmap. But he said the focus of the core development team and researchers is important in bringing that ambition to reality.
What Ethereum Foundation prioritizes
Still, he highlighted the foundation's important new focus. First, he said that much of his research efforts will shift towards short-term goals. The goal is to address the user experience and scaling challenges with two protocol upgrades:
Other important developments for EF cusp include layer 2 scaling, UX improvements, and support for upgrades to Fusaka and Gramaster Dam.
Additionally, the foundation is currently exploring ways to board projects that are three to five years away. Stanczak added that posts from top researchers at Ethereum will help speed up the finalization of some of these projects.
