Alex Gluchowski, founder of ZKSYNC and CEO of Matter Labs, believes Ethereum is suited to a powerful product market as a “world computer” in a decentralized economy. In a recent statement, Gluchowski emphasized that while decentralized versions of platforms such as Nasdaq and Swift may emerge, Ethereum remains the true foundation and moat of the Internet of Value.
According to Gluchowski, Ethereum's reliable neutrality is its central strength. He emphasized that values flow directly or indirectly to ETH as long as Ethereum maintains its position as a safe and neutral base layer.
Founder of ZKSYNC: If Ethereum maintains “Computer of the World” status, the value flows directly or indirectly to ETH
Alex Gluchowski, founder of ZKSYNC and CEO of Matter Labs, posted a statement that Ethereum is a global computer and still has product and market compatibility. There's a downstream “Decentralized Nasdaq and Swift,” but the Ethereum Network is a real moat. …https://t.co/shr2cptdlv

Ethereum is the fundamental layer of the future of multi-chain
Gluchowski acknowledged that future global transactions and payment infrastructures are not dependent on a single blockchain. Instead, Ethereum's future will be to serve as the fundamental settlement layer for a vast network of decentralized blockchains.
He also urged Layer 2 developers to focus on the forward trajectory of Ethereum rather than on its past. Gluchowski pointed out that future-ready layer 2 designs must match Ethereum's evolving architecture, especially in light of new proposals from Ethereum's leadership.
Vitalik Buterin proposes major EVM upgrades to RISC-V
Gluchowski's remarks follow a major proposal from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. Posting on Ethereum's core developer forum, Buterin proposed replacing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with RISC-V, an open source computing architecture known for its built-in encryption and technical flexibility.
EVM currently supports Ethereum's smart contract ecosystem and is crucial to its success. Several Layer-2 networks and independent blockchains use EVM standards to maintain compatibility with Ethereum applications.
According to Buterin, adopting RISC-V can improve the efficiency of the Ethereum execution layer and help solve long-standing scalability challenges. He also emphasized that this move could simplify the design of the running layer for future upgrades.
Zksync will align its roadmap with the next phase of Ethereum
Gluchowski confirmed that Zksync is in preparation for the proposed architectural changes of Ethereum. He indicated that the Layer-2 project will soon be presenting developments that align with this vision.
Gluchowski suggests that updates from Zksync could arrive within the next two weeks, indicating that Ethereum's preparation for the next stage of growth will be actively promoted.
