World Mobile has partnered with Protelindo, Indonesia's largest digital infrastructure company, to launch a new connectivity platform, World Mobile Stratospheric. World Mobile combines communications infrastructure with blockchain technology to create practical and profitable solutions. The project is based on aircraft using advanced wireless technology that can support up to 500,000 direct mobile connections at once. The technology has been tested in the UK in the UK, in the Deutsche Telecom in Europe, and in the Middle East.
Stratospheric aircraft aim to achieve lower costs, bandwidth, minimum latency and lower environmental impact. It also has payload capacity and endurance suitable for other applications beyond telecommunications.
In the US, where 30% of the land area is unserved, 11% of people lack a reliable internet, and many experience unstable connections, they plan to operate as both competitors and partners for existing telecom providers.
